Wine Country Kakheti

Kakheti in One Day

A one-day journey into Georgian wine, table, and hospitality.

1 day · wine, food, Sighnaghi and the Alazani Valley

About this experience

Join a relaxed one-day experience in Kakheti — Georgia's most celebrated wine region and one of the country's most generous landscapes.

This day brings together what Kakheti does best: qvevri wine, local food, warm hospitality, historic sites, open countryside, and the slower rhythm of the Alazani Valley.

For travelers who want to leave Tbilisi for a day and feel Georgia through taste, tradition, and place — without organizing logistics on their own.

Why go?

Because Kakheti is more than a tasting. It is the table, the landscape, monastery bells, the scent of fresh bread, vineyards beneath the Caucasus, and hospitality that stays with you. In one well-balanced day you will visit a historic monastery, learn about qvevri wine, take part in a cooking workshop, enjoy a local lunch, and stroll through Sighnaghi — one of eastern Georgia's most charming towns.

Day plan

  1. 08:00

    Departure from Freedom Square, Tbilisi

Meet your guide in central Tbilisi and head east into Georgia.

  2. 09:30

    Ninotsminda Monastery

One of Kakheti's oldest Christian sites. Sixth-century church ruins and the context of early Christianity in the region.

  3. 11:30

    Drive through the Alazani Valley

One of Georgia's most beautiful wine-country landscapes: vineyards, open space, and views of the Greater Caucasus.

The resting place of St. Nino, important to Georgian pilgrimage tradition, with a panoramic view over the valley.

  7. 16:00

Sighnaghi — the "City of Love"

Walls, cobbled streets, balconies, and wide views over the Alazani. One of eastern Georgia's most picturesque towns.

  8. 17:00

Coffee, local crafts, photos, or a quiet walk before the return journey.
