Regions of Georgia

The country region by region: mountains, wine, sea, and capital. We build routes around places with character — not around a random checklist of sights.

How we work with regions

Each region of Georgia has its own rhythm, season, and logistics. At Georgia Uncovered we combine local knowledge with private programmes: from one-day experiences in Kakheti, through Svaneti and Kazbegi, to Adjara and Tbilisi. Below — a map of destinations we most often build routes around.

Region list

Svaneti

Svaneti

Mountains · culture · winter · trekking

Europe's highest villages, medieval stone towers, and wild Great Caucasus peaks.

Svaneti is one of Georgia's most distinctive regions: isolated valleys, defensive towers in Mestia and Ushguli, local cuisine, and landscapes you cannot tick off in a single day. We design routes here with care for weather, access, and group pace — without rush or postcard checklists.

Kazbegi & the Caucasus

Kazbegi & the Caucasus

Mountains · panorama · weekend · winter

Mount Kazbek, Gergeti Trinity Church above the clouds, and the switchbacks of the Georgian Military Highway.

The Kazbegi region pairs dramatic Great Caucasus scenery with easy access from Tbilisi. Gergeti, views of Kazbek, and the Military Highway appear in many programmes — as a highlight on a classic route or as a base for a shorter, intimate mountain journey.

Kakheti

Kakheti

Wine · food · rtveli · culture

The land of wine: family marani, qvevri wine, the Alazani Valley, and the town of love, Sighnaghi.

Kakheti is the heart of Georgian wine and Georgia Uncovered's home base. Day experiences from Tbilisi, rtveli harvest seasons, and longer wine-and-food routes all start here. Qvevri, monasteries, the Alazani Valley, and the local table set a rhythm no standard tasting can replace.

Adjara & the Black Sea

Adjara & the Black Sea

Sea · tea · slow travel

Batumi, tea plantations, subtropical coast, and long, slow evenings by the sea.

Western Georgia and Adjara have a different temperament: greenery, tea, coastline, and Batumi. Routes in the spirit of our Tea Routes move slowly — focused on landscape, local food, and less obvious places beyond the usual Black Sea checklist.

Tbilisi

Tbilisi

City · architecture · history · urbex

A capital of contrasts: old lanes, sulphur baths, street art, and a living culture.

Tbilisi reads in layers: old town, Abanotubani, Narikala, Rustaveli, modernism, and contemporary detail. Our Tbilisi Revealed walk and private city programmes help you see the capital as history — not just a backdrop for photos.
